SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth)
SIBO, a relatively newly recognized condition, has gained a great deal of attention in recent years. Some experts suggest that most (possibly even all) cases of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) are actually caused by an underlying case of SIBO (and some argue that IBS is SIBO). The problem is, it can be very difficult to treat and this condition has a high tendency to relapse (in some cases multiple times).
We believe that many patients aren't successful with permanently eradicating SIBO because the underlying cause of the condition isn't being addressed. Factors like stress, dietary choices, certain medications, motility, sleep patterns, environment and even the way we eat our food can drastically hinder ones ability to permanently heal from a bacterial overgrowth.
Our Nutritionist Cassie Kremer was first diagnosed with SIBO 10 years ago and has spent the past decade learning about various forms of treatment both for herself and for our large patient base. Cassie has also undergone the intesive training through (SIBO Guru) Allison Siebecker's SIBO Pro Course. While many practitioners will focus solely on antibiotics for SIBO treatment, Cassie utilizes a multifaceted approach that addresses digestion, diet, lifestyle, gut health and even daily exercises to improve motility.
